Fun Decorations for your Car
There is someone in my neighborhood who drives a car that has hundreds of plastic trolls glued to its body. There is no ignoring that car when it drives by. I’m not one for decorating my car in funky ways but I do think it’s kind of cool that there are people out there who do this.
Fun decorations for autos that I’ve seen other than the trolls include:
- Photos. I once saw a car that had photo collages in the two side rear windows.
- Toy cars. There was a car in my neighborhood growing up that had a bunch of miniature toy cars glued to the hood of the real car. That’s kind of a playful idea.
- Christmas decorations. It’s fun to decorate your car a bit for the holidays using decals, ornaments and garlands. If the car is going to be parked for awhile then you can even add Christmas lights to it and make it part of your yard display.
- Paint. The most common way of redecorating a car is to change the body paint.
Of course if you want to stick to a more normal method of decorating your car then you could always just get bumper stickers.

Those cars with all the stuff glued to them look cool, but if you look closely, a lot of the stuff glued on the outside gets broken off or stolen. Still, if you don’t mind maintaining it, it is a really cool effect.
One of the neatest ideas I ever saw was a car covered with different Pez dispensers. The whole car was covered with them and I don’t think any two of them were alike.
Another really cool idea for decorating a car is to glue pieces of tile and glass on the outside to make your car a kind of rolling mosaic. You’d be amazed at all the attention you get.
I’m just waiting for the day when I’ve collected enough little toy robots to cover the outside of my car with them. I think I’ll need to be collecting them for another year or two before I’ll have enough.
There’s a car driving around that I’ve seen where the outside is covered in pennies. It looks really beautiful when the light hits it just right. Must have been maddening to finish, though.
