How we Became Profitable
I’ve been involved in our company’s current telesales outsourcing initiative the last couple of months. We’ve dealt with many different professionals in various fields, but the one that intrigued me most was the telemarketing consultant I met earlier this year. I was amazed at the interesting tips he had about running our business, and could directly see the benefits of those changes. Being able to customize our business has played a huge role in how profitable we have become. We’ve been able to downsize a lot of our sales force, and effectively retain only the best sales people for the physical calls we need to make.
The last person we had in the office was an inbound consultant that coached us on how to take calls when we were at our Santa Fe facility. She taught about efficiently taking the call while creating a sense of urgency. For now, I think we can focus on being able to effectively get customers that want to buy our products looking at our website. The cost we save in having the extra sales force answer thing phones can now be used as some marketing expense. I think that will be a good combination in the long run.
