Loyalty Programs

There are two goals for customer loyalty programs.  One is to track and monitor customer spending habits.  This data can be used to make positive changes and influence future products or services.  The second is to achieve and maintain customer loyalty.  Gaining loyalty is one of the best ways to increase a company’s number of repeat customers.  Repeat customers lead to increased sales and increased profit.

A rewards program can offer customers many different benefits.  Some offer customers time-limited discounts (such as 20% off for a 24 hour period).  Some offer discounts once specific guidelines have been met.  For example, a 15% discount on orders of $100 or more.  It is also possible to offer customers points the may be redeemed for discounts, products, or services.

Many companies offer their customers loyalty cards.  Most major supermarket chains offer these cards.  Loyalty cards are a great way for a company to keep track of customer purchase and spending.  This helps companies understand, and meet, the needs of their customers.

The effectiveness and success of loyalty programs depends upon the company’s ability to use the customer data that is collected.  Data must be used to update customer service and rewards.  A well researched and implemented customer rewards program can increase customer satisfaction, repeat business, and company profits.

Monitoring and tracking customers’ spending habits is important for every company. Knowing the types of products their ideal market buys is crucial to marketing and developing a product that will sell well.

Loyalty programs for customers do actually build loyalty- if customers are being rewarded for spending money at a certain establishment, they will be more likely to return. People love to get deals and loyalty programs are a creative way to give people those deals.

Discounts for customers that spend a certain amount are always a big hit. Customers will go out of there way to spend money at a certain store just because it will add to their amount needed to get the discount. It is a great way to increase business.

I have 2 supermarket store loyalty cards, and I do enjoy being able to produce them in order to get special discounts that I wouldn’t be getting if I didn’t have the loyalty card. I enjoy being able to see how much I saved.

I don’t really mind giving out my information in order to get a loyalty card at a store or restaurant. As long as I am being rewarded, it doesn’t matter to me. I don’t like unsolicited junk mail, but receiving coupons every now and then is a good perk.
