Cats Will Play with Anything
It’s terrific having cats for pets. However, there are definitely some aspects of being a cat owner that are frustrating. For me, the most frustrating thing about owning cats has always been the fact that cats will turn almost anything into a toy.
Computer wires were the big problem with my cats. Every cat I ever owned seemed to think that the wires to my computer and other electronics were the best toys in the world. The cat would get back there, unplug everything, tangle up the cords and leave the mess to me to work out.
What I found is that it helps to make sure that your cat has his or her own cat toys to play with. The trick is finding interactive, challenging cat toys that will keep your cat distracted and entertained for a long time. Kong cat toys worked great for my cats but I imagine that each cat is different.
Then it’s just a matter of catching your cat in the act of playing with what he’s not supposed to and redirecting his attention to his cat toys. If you do this enough times, the cat will get the hint. He’ll leave your stuff alone and play with his own toys more often than not.
