Techie VDay?
I’m genuinely wondering, what is the best day to tell someone you love them in a way that’s totally 2009, and yet both sweet and effective? I’ve read some stuff online about a children’s literature massive book signing initiative for VDay 09, but I don’t have any kids (wouldn’t that be easy otherwise!). I don’t think eCards are all that endearing or thoughtful. I’m not a fan of mass emails. Maybe I should give her the iPhone preloaded with a sweethearts background.
Maybe I should sign her up for new internet services, or get her one of those mini laptops with wireless internet access capabilities. I mean, are roses passé? Is it only fresh if you’re getting satellite internet access? How much money do I have to spend to prove to this girl that I really care? I’m not the type of guy who composes an original poem for a girl, or pulls the creepy card and does the whole Bed of Roses moment. I want her to know that I love her in my own way, not in a Hallmark proscribed holiday. However, I also don’t want to be in the doghouse by doing the wrong thing. Honey, if you read this, I love you. End of story?
