Adjusting CPAP Masks

Getting comfortable with your CPAP supplies isn’t always easy for most equipment users.  This is why it is so important to find a setting for your CPAP mask and stick with it!  If you are new to using CPAP supplies, you probably have a lot of questions and hopefully this information will help you to properly and accurately adjust your CPAP mask in a way that will assist you for extended periods of time.

It is easiest for CPAP masks to sit comfortably on the face of the user as long as they are properly sized and set on clean and dry skin.  CPAP masks are likely to leak at first and trying to tighten your mask too much may result in a mask that is too tight and uncomfortable and which may not even alleviate the leak.  By speaking with your CPAP mask provider, you will be more likely to find a mask that fits more securely and comfortably.  Try adjusting your mask during the day so you can be sure it fits more comfortably at night. This should alleviate any frustration you may feel prior to actually going to sleep.

Once you fied a comfortable mask to work with your CPAP machine, try to keep these settings in place.  Try not to tamper too much with the mask by constantly changing the settings.  Each night, simply put your CPAP mask on, much like you would a catchers mask, without changing the settings on the mask unless absolutely necessary.
