Getting Used to A New Home
We recently moved into a new home and it takes some getting used to the particulars of a new residence. Our new house has a different floor plan than our last house so I keep walking into the closet when trying to go to the bathroom. When emptying the dishwasher, I turn right to put the cups away even though the cups now reside right over the washer. The kid’s rooms are configured differently because their furniture didn’t fit in the new rooms the same so I walk straight into their beds when sneaking in at night to kiss them before I go to bed.
The other thing to get used to in a new house is the equipment that goes along with the house. Learning how to run the kitchen appliances, clothes washers and dryers take some getting used to. We needed to learn how to use the Security Alarm Now system which is monitored by ADT Denver. Never owners of a pool, we had to learn to clean and upkeep the pool. Our garage door openers and sprinkler system were different from in our last home so we had to adjust and learn to program the new systems. We are excited about the new house and waiting out the learning curve to thoroughly enjoy our new surroundings.
