Different Types of Cat Furniture
Most cat owners eventually end up getting some type of furniture for their cat. This prevents the cat from spending so much time on your furniture and gives him a place of his own.
Some of the types of cat furniture that you might want to get include:
- Scratching post. If your cat is frequently scratching your carpet or furniture then you may want to get him a scratching post. There are also alternatives like boxes designed for scratching.
- Cat perch. This is just a small ledge that you can mount on a wall for your cat to hang out on. This is great for multi-pet homes so the cat can get away from the dogs when it wants to.
- Kitty condo. The cat condo is a big piece of furniture that meets all of your cat’s needs. It has perches, levels to climb and posts to scratch. This may also be called a cat tree.
- Cat gym. This is similar to the kitty condo but it’s designed with more activity in mind. It may have things to swing on or toys to play with built into its design.
The type of furniture that you’ll want for your cat depends on the number of cats that you have and the reason that you need the furniture.
