How to Choose an Office Chair
An office chair is something that you don’t purchase very often. You want to make sure that you get the right one. But how do you choose?
Follow these tips to choose a good office chair:
- Take the time to shop around. You’ll want to set aside enough time to really review and test out different office chairs before making a selection.
- Choose an office chair that is highly adjustable. This will allow you to make sure that you actually get the right fit for your body as well as for your desk.
- Look for an office chair that is ergonomic. These really are the ones that are going to be easiest on your body when you’re sitting in the office for long periods of time.
- Try to find an office chair made with healthy materials. This will allow you to further alleviate any health concerns that you may have about choosing an office chair.
- Select a design that you like. You want a chair that you’ll be happy to sit in. Consider color, shape and design when finalizing your decision about a chair.
If you end up with an office chair that you don’t like, get rid of it. It’s better to sell it and to get a new one than to be stuck with a chair that’s uncomfortable or unlikeable.

I am having an office chair crush. I really want (and sometimes steal) the guy’s chair in the cubicle next to me and blame it on the cleaning ladies. It was pretty expensive but its ergonomic and gorgeous! Wicked comfy, too.
I think that the office chair is one of the most important pieces of office furnishings you’ll ever invest in. It’s worth it to spend extra, and it’s tax deductible anyway. I say splurge and be more productive, it’s worth it in the end!
I’ve never understood the big deal with chairs. I’m a no frills girl and I’ve never noticed a huge difference in the way I feel from one chair to the next. I’d probably just buy the cheapest one and be done with it. Thanks for the advice though!
