Advance Planning Always Saves You Money
My boyfriend and I are planning to take a trip in just a few weeks and we haven’t made any of the plans for the trip. It isn’t for want of trying, at least on my part. I fully believe that you should book travel plans months in advance in order to get the best deals.
He says that it’s not necessary because there are hot deals coming along all of the time which make travel cheap even if you procrastinate on the planning. He is convinced that you can easily book a last minute vacation and not suffer any consequences in terms of the cost of the trip.
I’m not inclined to agree. I do know that there are deals out there but I think that you sometimes sacrifice to get those deals if you don’t plan in advance. For example, I think that you can get a great cheap hotel at the last minute but I think that the amount of selection you have at that time is much smaller than if you book it in advance.
Mostly, though, I think that you save money when planning your vacation in advance because you have more time to do comparison shopping. You can take the time to actually see if the deal that looks so good is the best one out there. This late in the planning stage, we aren’t going to be able to do that.
