Things My Ex and I Never Agreed On
I recently went through a break-up and one of the ways that I’ve been trying to do to get through it is to try to remember all of the things that my ex and I could never agree on. Although we had a great time together for many years, we were fundamentally different people which led us to engage in a lot of disagreements over things. As I get used to being on my own again, it’s kind of nice to realize that there are things that I can choose to do now just because I really want to do them and there isn’t anyone that I have to negotiate those things with or argue about them over before I go ahead and do them.
The big example that always came up was when we were trying to book our holiday travel plans. We settled on traveling to Canada one year but I wanted to do a lake louise vacation and he wanted to do a banff vacation package. We ended up doing separate canada ski vacations and hating each other the entire time. Now I can book a trip to wherever I want (in Canada or anywhere else) and there’s no one who is going to make me feel bad about it!
