Using Breadcrumbs
I recently discovered one of the greatest applications to add to my website and I wanted to share it with all of you. I own a large window pane company and much of my business is conducted online. The website is quite extensive with images, prices, quotes and a check out page. I was getting some feedback from customers telling me that the website was a little too complicated. Obviously the customer always comes first so I consulted my PHP Solutions to see how I could make the site less complicated. I have used Dreamweaver extensions for much of my site including order forms, email and the Dreamweaver shopping cart.
After my research, I found an extension I had not heard of before called Breadcrumbs. Basically this application helps users to navigate a large website. It displays one thread of the website at a time and lets users move from one topic to another really easily. Each page is listed on a toolbar to the left side of the screen so it is easy for them to move back and forth and still know how to get back to a certain page. Since I installed this CSS extension, I have received a lot of great feedback from my customers. Not only that, but I have seen business in general increase greatly. My revenue is much greater since I added the Breadcrumbs extension. I encourage any business owner dealing with a large website to install this app because if the customer isn’t happy while navigating your product, you aren’t going to sell much in the end.
