Swap Your Home This Summer
One of the best things that has come out of the bad economy is that people are learning to do a lot more bartering instead of just spending their money willy nilly. Sometimes people barter one service or product for another but many times the barter will be a straight trade of similar items. For example, many vacationers this summer will choose to swap homes with someone in a different location in order to enjoy a vacation without spending any money on accommodations. Home swaps are a great way to stay in a comfortable place without wasting money.
Ideally you want to try to swap your home for one that is of equal or greater value than your own. However, the location of the home is probably more important than the specifics of the home’s value. For example, someone in San Francisco may have a home that’s very expensive but if they want to visit Orlando then they would do well to swap for an Orlando villa even if that villa is technically of lower value. After all, even the nicest Villas in Florida can’t compete with the housing prices in San Francisco! You want to make sure that you choose a home swap in a destination that truly appeals to you and then consider the details of the house itself secondary to that.
